
NEW YORK STATE PARKING ASSOCIATION
The New York State Parking Association elected a new Executive Committee for 2009. Michael Klein (Albany Parking Authority) was elected President, Craig Barber (AllPro Parking) was elected Vice President, Maria Wallace (University at Buffalo) was re-elected Secretary and Joe Wlostowski (University at Binghamton) was re-elected Treasurer.
On January 15, 2009, Michael Klein and Joe Wlostowski represented NYSPA at the IPI State and Regional Parking Associations meeting held in Orlando, FL. Michael and Joe had the opportunity to discuss various issues impacting membership and member services, share ideas with parking association leaders from throughout the country, and to become acquainted with the new leadership of the IPI.
NYSPA has booked its second annual summer training session, scheduled for June 16, 2009 at the Hinderwadel’s Grove in Syracuse, NY. Last year’s inaugural event was a rousing success with over 100 participants enjoying a day of instructional, networking and team building activities. NYSPA has selected The Holiday Inn Grand Island Resort and Conference Center near Niagara Falls in Buffalo, NY as the venue for the 17th annual conference, and this will occur October 7 – 9, 2009. In addition to nationally recognized speakers addressing hot topics such as Technology, Customer Service, and Revenue Control there will be concurrent sessions focused on training. Also, Shawn Conrad the new Executive Director of the IPI, will address attendees regarding the state of the parking industry, and will also provide a glimpse of what to expect in the future.
